RA Compromised Barrier Steps Healthy Skin

Cleansing

This is the first step of your regimen.

We recommend applying 1 pump of cleanser onto clean, damp hands and gently massaging into the skin.  Add more water to create lather and work into skin for 1-2 minutes.  Remove with gentle (soft) white cloth for several rinses if needed.  Pat or air-dry skin before applying next step.

Cleansing is the most important step in any regimen.  These cleansers are formulated with specialized surfactants that leave the lipid profile intact.

Building & Strengthening (AM)

The products in this category are typically applied in the AM as many formulations contain stem cells, vitamins, and antioxidants to help strengthen and protect the skin.  A compromised skin is depleted and the formulas in this category are vital for results.  These products may be changed seasonally as well.  They are applied after the cleanser and tonic steps.

We recommend applying 1-2 pumps onto fingertips and gently massage into clean, dry skin.  Let serum absorb.  May layer moisturizer overtop.

Correctives (PM)

Formulas in this category are recommended for use at night, applied after cleansing.

We recommend applying 1 pump onto clean, dry skin.  Let product absorb.  May layer moisturizer overtop.  SPF use during the day is recommended when using Correctives.  We recommending using 1-3 nights per week as you start to introduce a new corrective to your regimen.

Ingredients like encapsulated vitamin A (retinal) and l-mandelic and pyruvic acids work to rebuild the dermis, strengthening the skin.  These formulas are considered lifestyle-friendly, which means they are gentle but effective!

Hydrators & Moisturizers

Hydration is an imperative step in restoring the skin.  The formulas in this category do more than just increase hydration.  They support new cell strengthening, reduce inflammation, and provide immediate relief to the skin.

These may be applied AM and/or PM and may be changed seasonally or depending on what the skin is experiencing.  Consider mixing a few drops of a lipid-based serum into a cream-based moisturizer for maximum hydration.

We recommend applying 1-2 pumps onto fingertips and gently massaging into clean, dry skin or over your favorite RA Building & Strengthening or Corrective serum.

Excellent Additions to Regimen

Masks

A weekly mask is therapeutic for compromised skin as they soothe and restore.  Masks are typically used once per week but depending on the mask and skin concern, twice per week may be more effective.

We recommend applying a thin layer onto clean, dry skin – avoiding the eye area.  Leave on 10-15 minutes.  Rinse well with cool water and soft cloth.  Pat skin dry and follow up with your favorite RA serums and moisturizer.
