Seasonal Awareness: Spring – Renew and Revive Skin
January 10 2023 – Shannon Esau
Springtime is near! The days are getting warmer, we have more hours of sunlight, and of course all the trees and flowers are budding. Who isn’t ready to shed their “winter” skin and experience the feeling of springtime renewal!
Spring Skin Care Goals
One of the key components to reviving skin is exfoliation! This form of rejuvenation creates a smoother texture, allows for key nutrients to penetrate more easily and reveals a brighter, more even complexion.
You’ve heard us say it before there is “Power in Flowers” and we love to incorporate flower extracts into several formulas used in our Pro Series. Two absolute favorite flower-focused treatments are our Hibiscus Facial and 12 Flower Facial. Both facials incorporate a bouquet of flower extracts to assist in exfoliating, hydrating, firming and brightening skin.
Another option for those who may not frequent the treatment room often is our Pro Youth -10 Radiant Bamboo Polish or Gentle Jojoba Beads. Each one offers a great way to soften and smooth skin, plus the Radiant Bamboo Polish contains daisy flower extract which helps increase brightening and a more even skin tone.
Increase Protection
With the increased amount of sunlight and many spending more time outdoors, we must not forget to boost our protection against harmful UV rays. Formulations like Pro Youth -10 Antiox 18 Complex, or Pigmentation Solutions vitamin C formulas are go-to’s for this but know that the Mandelic Purifying Tonic or Vita E Therapyin the Acne Remedies line are an excellent way to increase antioxidants without the risk of stimulating acne. Be sure you are incorporating one of our Sun Reflect outdoor topicals to help shield the skin from the sun.
Let’s Not Forget the Body!
Have you tried our Brown Sugar Glow? This all-organic, brown sugar scrub is a sure way to slough off winter and reveal hydrated, soft and silky skin all over the body! The organic brown sugar not only acts as a mechanical exfoliant, but it can help soften that glue-like substance holding your dull skin cells together. Next, your skin is infused with organic macadamia nut, coconut and grape seed oils to help nourish and moisturize skin – all with a light tropical aroma.
Brighten Up Your Surroundings
Springtime is a great time of year to eliminate clutter and bring some fresh color to your surroundings. An easy way to do this is by bringing in some of the beautiful flowers of spring like tulips, daffodils, peonies, hyacinth and of course Texas bluebells. Concerned about flowers and allergies? Incorporate some bright green plants throughout your space to increase oxygenation and freshen the air.
Remember, the goal is to bring a sense of renewal and revival to you and those around you.
Happy Spring!
